Winter Break Shizzle

The pressure is on- twoish days to go, and way too many things on my plate.... My nights are booked (Mary's Bday, Athletics Christmas Formal) and my days are lazy.... Something's gotta give....

Today Brandon and I recived the results of our Field Notebooks in Geology.... and, surprise surprise, our grads appear terrible. Appear because, in the UK system, a 60 is average, a 70 is outstanding, and we got 50s.... so, below average for Geology students counts as above average in my book for English majors....

My favorite comments were : "A bit too chatty, too prose-driven.... try to be more objective.... " So, from my understanding, my English professors back at Luther (Mark and Carol included) would be quite proud.

Otherwise, my formal presentation (15 minutes on a subject to be hashed out in a 8 page paper due in February) is tomorrow, along with the final details of the trip, and much money transfering and packing as well....

Beyond that, lovely parents of mine, my cell phone will be charged and always available for talk/text..... the Continent is 7 hrs ahead instead of 6, so right about the time that you're getting ready to go out on New Year's, I'll be hanging out with about 5 million of my best friends at the Eiffel Tower watching some French ball drop....

Until later,
kevin

Wow, sounds like a ridiculous trip. Here's my two cents on my second favorite european city (of the small number that I've been to). If I remember my geography correctly your hostel is right across the Salzach from the main shopping and touristy crap district. If you can find Mozart's birthhouse (not hard, it say's "Mozart's Birth Home" on the outside) try to find a small pub, I think it's about a block to the north, that is under street level with like rock walls. Go in, order a pint of guinness and you'll be in the exact pub drinking the exact first beer I ever had. It'll be a touching experience trust me.

Otherwise, while you're in Munich be sure to try the Paulaner, as it's my favorite major german beer. And order anything schnitzel, pork, wiener, chicken etc.... it's all amazing.

That's my two cents, enjoy the bulk of Western Europe.

Love
Dan
