Countdowns are for Losers
Countdowns are for Losers. Which is why, on this glorious May 2nd (a mere month and 3 days until my return), I've shunned any flatmate who tries to shove the thought of leaving this place in my face.
Right now, life is chill. It seems to be a common theme around here, sitting around, hanging out, soaking up the nap-inducing rays of life, especially on this- the homestretch. Two more weeks of class remain (try to stifle laughter, state schoolers), followed by almost a month of finals. Granted, Mark and Carol have done everything in their power to make sure our lives are a living hell in the next three weeks, but all in all, it's pretty hard to find a reason to complain.
Take one relatively easy schedule, add a great visit from Megan, throw in the newly discovered website www.tv-links.co.uk (all tv shows ever, streaming for your pleasure), subtract one camera, add a 21st birthday party, and you've got one mathematical equation that I might actually understand, or at least enjoy.
Megan left to less fanfare than we originally planned. Rather than go balls-out on another crazy trip to Oceana, we settled on the much more relaxed, much more conducive to conversation Lion- our pub of pubs, which has been recently renovated. Having another member of The Cult visit (can we work on a better name?) was great- Together we managed to finish off shopping for the Baker House (Uniforms for all scheduled parties next year... an informal 'How Can I Help You' if you will), and a gift for my sister completed my spending in Nottingham....i promise...We visited Ms Bunns(RIP) for the first time since my removal from service, and in true Ms Bunns deadpan fashion, no one recognized me or said anything.... Maybe it's better this way...
Megan came with to class, where she doodled while I took notes on 24 and Battlestar Galactica. She was helpful enough to fill out an End of the Year class evaluation for my professors, basing most of her opinion on the one class.... hopefully no one gets fired or tenured solely on these reviews...
This week I have a whole lot of nothing on tap. Spiderman 3 blows my mind away on Friday, followed by some 'English Ska' at the Lion.. I really should start some of my British Novel paper and Traveling Essay, not to mention read 300 pages in Brick Lane, but as with most procrasitaiton, it seems lightyears away..... then again, so did my return to the States a short while ago...I found this video, a parody of eHarmony.com ads, relating to Facebook. If you don't understand it, you're probably over the age of 25. IF you do get it, why aren't we Facebook friends?
